Your video never leaves your computer
Bling is a real desktop app. Your video file, your project, your edits and your exports live on your own disk, and there is no cloud account watching your drafts and no server holding your footage.
Transcription is the one step you can send out. With cloud transcription on, Bling extracts the audio track and sends only that to Deepgram, our speech-to-text provider, which returns the words and does not keep the audio or train on it. Turn it off in Settings and Bling transcribes on your own machine instead, with the models it downloaded on first launch, about 824 MB, and then everything works with the Wi-Fi off.
How accurate are the cuts?
Silence and filler cuts land on the detected speech boundary. Word cuts open a little before the word so the first sound of a struck “um” does not survive, and the Cut timing slider moves that.
What can I import?
Common video formats including MP4 and MOV from cameras, phones, and screen recorders, plus audio-only files like MP3 and WAV. Transcription and filler-word detection are English only today; silence and dead-air cutting work on any recording.
Can I finish the edit in my usual editor?
Yes. Export the cut video and keep editing it anywhere. Pro adds a CapCut kit, the cut MP4 plus a matching subtitle file so captions arrive as live text, and Premiere XML and Resolve EDL sequences.
Does my video get uploaded?
No. Your video file stays on your disk. Transcription is the only step that can leave, and only the audio track goes: with cloud transcription on, Bling sends a compact audio-only copy to Deepgram, gets the words back, and Deepgram does not keep it or train on it. Turn cloud transcription off in Settings and the audio stays put too, transcribed by the models that ship with the app. Signed-out users are always on the local engine.
Is the download signed?
Both builds are. The Windows installer is code signed by Bling AI, and the Mac build is signed and notarized by Apple. Only download Bling from blingai.org.
